Objective:
-create a song in ternary form. AABA
-Add effects and balance your tracks
-Add markers to your tracks to show your form.
Procedures:
-Save as "First Name Last Initial-Lesson2"
-Create a composition in Terinary Form AABA.
-Each section is 8 measures long therefore the first 2 A sections should last 16 measures total.
-Select a song style from the drop down menu not an instrument.
-Pick a style you are not familiar with.
-Your first set of loops will be a drum loop
-2nd set of loops will be a bass loop
-3rd set of loops will be a choice instrument. (This cannot be another drum or beat loop, it must be some kind of melodic instrument)
-After you have your form, make sure to add your markers above.
- First marker is "A Section", 2nd "A Section Repeated", 3rd "B Section", and 4th "A Section Recap"
-Finally balance the sound of each track by selecting the mixer tab at the bottom.
-If a track goes into the red, lower the volume,
-Try panning your tracks so that 1 instrument goes to the left and 1 to the right.
*It doesn't have to be extreme.
-Add digital effects by clicking on the FX tab.
-Select an FX by clicking the drop down menu. Once selected you can preview that individual track by clicking on the word solo next the the track in your track editor.
-If you don't like the FX then select another or just uncheck the box.
-SAVE
-Mix Down to an MP3
-Post on raftermusic.wikispaces.com as "First Name Last Initial-Lesson2"
Grading:
-you must have a total of 32 measures and it must be arranged in AABA form
-you must use at least 3 instruments (1 drum, 1 bass, and 1 instrument of your choice)
-you must add at least 1 effect to each of your tracks.
-all tracks must be balanced
-10 points for each section missing, example: ABA, ABC, ABBC ABBA instead of AABA form
-10 points for each instrument missing
-2 points for each measure over or under 32 measures
-5 if song is not balanced
